Controlling Other Grow Lights
Our UIS™ Controllers can also be used with grow lights from other brands through our Lighting Adapters or the Control Plug. Simply connect your grow light to our controller to automate it with light cycles, schedules, and even dynamic responses to temperature and humidity. Once the first light is connected, you can control additional lights using that light’s daisy-chain method. Your lights will also become part of the UIS Platform alongside fans, circulation devices, humidifiers, and outlet-powered equipment—all working together to create the ideal environment for your plants. With our WiFi-enabled Smart Controllers, you can monitor and control your grow from anywhere using your smartphone, including access to data charts and notifications through the AC Infinity app.

UIS Lighting Adapters
Our UIS Lighting Adapters are compatible with most grow lights featuring RJ11 and RJ12 connectors. These ports were originally designed as telephone jacks and later adapted for dimming and daisy-chaining functions. Since manufacturers use different dimming protocols, multiple adapter types are required. If your model is not directly compatible, you can usually still control it using the UIS Control Plug. Your UIS Controller may require a firmware update through the app to ensure compatibility with all adapters.
Please note: Lighting Adapters do not provide power themselves. Your UIS Controller must be connected to another UIS device (such as an Inline Fan, Clip Fan, or UIS Control Plug) in order to function.
Type A (PWM and 0–10V Protocol)
The Type-A Adapter is compatible with grow lights that use Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) or the 0–10V protocol. Differences between manufacturers may limit the available dimming range. For example, some drivers only activate at 1V or higher, causing the light to turn on only at higher brightness levels.
Type B (Resistor Protocol)
The Type-B Adapter is used for grow lights that employ resistor-based analog dimming. As with other protocols, manufacturer-specific implementations may limit dimming precision or range.
Type D (Dimming Wire)
The Type-D Adapter is compatible with grow lights whose drivers include dimming control wires. This covers most modern LED grow lights. Some manufacturers expose these wires externally, while others may require access to the driver housing to locate them.
Note: Full compatibility cannot be guaranteed. Whether control functions will work with a specific grow light must be verified on a case-by-case basis.
